Eliza Cox

Miss Charlotte Teen USA 2015

Eliza Cox is an eighteen year-old who constantly strives to develop a broadened perspective through daily encounters with new people, places, and knowledge. This past May, Eliza graduated at the top of her class from Spartanburg High School. During her years of high school, she devoted much of her time to academics, athletics, and community service. Her "go-getter" personality and intellectual curiosity earned her a number of honors, including National Merit Scholarship Finalist and Winner status, the Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenship Award, the South Carolina Academic Honor Award, and three varsity sport letters. Beginning in August, she will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she plans to double major in international business and broadcast/electronic communication. Apart from school, Eliza enjoys enriching her community and collaborating with various charitable organizations. In the past two years, she has had the pleasure of working most specifically with Mental Fitness, Inc., a non-profit organization that promotes eating disorder awareness and cultivates self-esteem and community connection in America's youth, in addition to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which seeks to ameliorate the lives of those who suffer from Parkinson's Disease. In her leisure time, Eliza runs half-marathons with her father, blogs about positive thinking, and experiments with the latest fashion and beauty trends. During her year as Miss Charlotte Teen USA, she hopes to empower the people of not only Charlotte, but also North Carolina as she prepares for the Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2015 pageant and beyond.
